Sapiensex, Play and learn about sexuality

The game

It is a well-known fact that young people have plenty of access to information on sexuality. However, in a formal educational/academic setting sexuality has been taught under a halo of excessive secrecy, as though it was something harmful.  Taboos and myths are often promoted.

A big amount of behaviors are sexualized: for example: Usually, women are being treated as objects; Women are also under social pressure of “being a good girl”. In addition, they are worried about what others expect of them.

On the other hand, men are under pressure to be “always ready”. This may cause big frustrations. They also have difficulties to express their feelings, they are afraid of being rejected…

In general, risk behavior and gender violence are being promoted. Through movies, commercials, TV series, pornography, prostitution…

Nowadays, there is still a high number of unwanted pregnancies, voluntary interruptions of pregnancy and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs)

Those facts show that just information is not enough. Instead it is essential to receive a good education

Conventional workshops show sexuality from the point of view of fear:

They teach prevention of STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) and unwanted pregnancies. The alternative offered is just abstinence or contraceptive methods.

The difference with, “SAPIENSEX: Play and Learn about Sexuality”, is that it aims to educate in the sense of PLEASURE AND RESPONSIBILITY. It shows human sexuality like another dimension of personality, pointing out the importance of a healthy behavior, being assertive and equal within relationships.
